In chapter fifteen the three guests wake up with the storm gone and all eat breakfast downstairs. Lombard suggests heliographing to try and send an SOS. Sadly they find out they will have to spend another night in the house because the sea still hasn't calmed down. Phillip and William talk about where Armstrong could be and argue about who put Phillip's revolve back in the drawer. Vera tells them to stop arguing because she remembers that the next part of the nursery rhyme corresponds with Armstrong's disappearance. They tried flashing a mirror to the mainland but no one responds. Blore suggests going back to eat lunch, but Vera and Lombard stay together outside. Lombard tells Vera that Blore is trouble and a liar, and that he is still a suspect. They feel a rumble on the ground and go to the terrace to investigate. They find a dead Blore underneath a large bear sculpture. Lombard suggests to go and find Armstrong but Vera tells him not to. They walk up and down the beach and see a pile of clothes near some rocks. Upon further investigation they find that it is Armstrong.
In chapter fourteen they take Wargrave upstairs then go back downstairs to eat something. They talk about why they didn't hear a gunshot, but then go to sleep because of their fatigue. They all lock their doors at the same time, and Lombard finds the revolver in his dresser. Vera contemplates staying locked in her room but doesn't because of the thoughts of Cyril and Hugo. Blore thinks about his days as a policeman and then he thinks about the faces of the guests who died. Blore then hears sounds outside his room. He knocks on each door and Armstrong doesn't answer so Blore and Lombard search for him. Vera thinks about how Armstrong wouldn't be able to get through her door and begins to write in her diary. Finally Blore and Lombard come back and tell Vera the Armstrong has disappeared. They check downstairs and a another solider boy statue is gone.
The five remaining people on the island are frightened for their lives. They all don't seem like themselves, but Lombard devises a plan to build a raft, or try to make some kind of signal. They eat and then Lombard begins to freak out. He wants his revolver and feels like the clock had stopped. Vera made herself and Blore tea while everyone else had whiskey. The power would not turn on so Lombard went out and got candles and saucers. Vera went to bathe and then had a flashback of her accusation and smelt the beach where Cyril drowned. She screamed for help and the four men found seaweed on the ceiling. They all went downstairs to have a drink and they opened a new bottle of brandy just in case the previous 0ne had been tampered with. They did not know of the judges whereabouts so began to look for him. They found Wargrave and lifted a wig on his head to find a gunshot wound. The wig was made out of Emily Brent's wool and the missing bathroom curtain.
In chapter twelve Wargrave suggests they all talk after breakfast, but see's Emily Brent standing up and sitting back down. He asks her if she is okay and says she is just giddy. Emily Brent see's a bee and feels very drowsy and tired, she thinks about honey and Beatrice Taylor and then feels a bee sting on her neck. Everyone is getting ready to talk and Vera speaks about Emily Brent's accusation. They get annoyed waiting for Emily and when they go to get her she is found dead. Dr. Armstrong says that she was injected with a poison, and Lombard says that they have all gone mad. Wargrave asks if anyone has a syringe with them and Dr. Armstrong says he does. They check upstairs to see if the syringe is there and it isn't. Wargrave suggests that all drugs and Phillip's revolver be put in a safe place so that no one takes them, but Lombard isn't able to find his revolver. Everyone is checked and no other weapons are found, but they find another broken solider boy.
In chapter eleven Phillip Lomabrd is the first one up and is confused because there is no morning bell for breakfast. He goes and knocks and each person's door and asks them if they have seen Mr. Rogers, but no one has. They all search the house and can't find him, but Vera see's that there are six soldiers on the table. They find Rogers' body with an ax in his head in a shed. Vera tells everyone that the deaths correspond with the nursery rhyme and asks is there are any bees on the island because that is the next verse. Armstrong slaps her because she is in utter shock. Blore tells Lombard of a story of a couple who was murdered with an ax and compares it to their situation. They talk about Blore's accusation and which one of them Mr. Owen would kill first. Vera thinks about her accusation and how everyone praised her for trying to save Cyril except Hugo. Then Emily talks to Vera about how she isn't going to die, because she isn't afraid.
In chapter ten Vera and Phillip sit and discuss Wargrave's theory. They both talk about who they think the murderer is and how the entire situation feels like a bad dream. Lombard believes that Wargrave is the murderer, but Vera believes that Armstrong is the murderer. Then Dr. Armstrong tells Mr. Wargrave that they must leave the island immediately, but Wargrave tells him that it would be unlikely that a boat would reach them in time. Emily Brent has a dream where she accuses Beatrice of being the murderer and thinks she is going mad. Once the storm becomes worse everyone goes downstairs and drinkstea. For once everyone thought that the atmosphere was normal again until Rogers asks anyone is they have seen a missing bathroom curtain. At nine o'clock the women went to bed, then an hour later the men did. The only one up in the house was Rogers who locked up and said that there would be no more china solider tricks that night.

Blore and Armstrong also question Lombard and his revolver, but he explains he brought it because he thought he would need it for the job. Then Rogers talks to the three men about the immense amount of food on the island that could last them a long time if they were stuck. They also discuss not seeing Fred Narracott and why no one has shown up on the island. When everyone sits down to start lunch there is talk of a storm, but it is interrupted when the guests hear running outside. Dr. Armstrong comes in saying he found General Macarthur dead. He explains that someone hit him in the back of the head with something, and that there are now only seven figures on the table. Everyone begins to point fingers on who killed Macarthur, but Wargrave tells them all that they need to look at the facts, because it could have been anyone. Wargrave draws the conclusion that one of them is Mr. Owen. The guests then discuss where they were before Macarthur was murdered, and that none of them are safe from accusation.
In chapter eight Blore, Armstrong, and Lombard all search the island for Mr Owen and talk about how someone could have slipped cyanide into Anthony Marston's drink. They come across General MacArthur who is looking out into sea and saying something about being left alone and not disturbed. The men do not find anything and think about how someone could've driven a boat to the island and then gone back to the mainland. Then Vera walks along the beach and talks to General MacArthur about not leaving the island. He also talks to her about his wife Leslie and how he left her and she died while he wasn't with her. The three men who searched the island decide to search inside the house and talk about how MacArthur could be Mr Owen. The men hear something in one of the rooms and burst through the doors to find Rogers holding clothes. They apologize and let him finish and end up unhappy because of their fruitless search. In chapter seven Emily suggests to Vera that they take a walk on the beach. Emily confesses to Vera her accusation and tells her the story. Emily tells Vera that a girl named Beatrice Taylor was in service with Emily, but Beatrice had a horrible behavior and Emily did not keep her in her house. Once Beatrice was thrown out she killed herself by drowning in a river. Emily did not feel bad about it because Beatrice had an unacceptable behavior and did it to herself. Armstrong and Lombard discuss Mrs. Rogers death and Blore's theory on how it happened. Then they talk about how the Ten Little Solider poem relates to each death that had happened and they decide to search the island for the raving maniac Mr. Owen.
